From Sydney, now live in Chicago. Former surfer and cyclist; presently an enthusiast of strip malls, the imperial measurement system, and lakes. Other hobbies include: James Joyce, wine, The Fall, and running. Hobbies are performed/consumed in aforementioned order.

In between completing my undergraduate degree and starting my PhD I worked as a writer for a surfing magazine, Stab. I also freelanced, penning more surf-related articles, all of which were Pulitzer worthy, for a handful of other publications until my PhD completion.
