From Sydney, now live in Chicago. Former surfer and cyclist; current enjoyer of strip malls, the imperial measurement system, and big lakes. Other hobbies include Joyce, wine, The Fall, and running—performed and/or consumed in that order.

In between finishing undergraduate degree and starting my PhD I worked as a writer for a surfing magazine called Stab. I also worked as a freelance writer penning more surf-related articles, all of which were Pulitzer worthy, for a handful of other publications.
